MXGB Canada Heights: Ashton Dickinson claims overall MX2 win

The Revo ACU British Championship got underway for round three of the series at the popular Canada Heights circuit in Swanley, with Ashton Dickinson grabbing the first overall spot for the day.

Heading into qualifying on the hot and humid Sunday morning, it was the youngster Ike Carter who grabbed the pole position in MX2 qualifying, followed by the Dixon racing Kawasaki rider Wilson Todd. The Hitachi KTM MXGP rider Conrad Mewse didn’t seem to gel as much as he usually does with the circuits we have seen him ride at so far, and finished up with third gate pick for the day.

MX2 race one saw Ike Shoot out the gate again just behind Wilson Todd as Todd moved forward for an early lead in the moto. Just behind him was Ashton Dickinson pushing hard to try and make a pass. Meanwhile further down the pack Gabriel KTM’s John Adamson had a good start, but crashed and managed to salvage seventh, just behind Crendon FastTracks Jay Hague. As he was leading, Ike then made a mistake out front allowing Todd and Dickinson to fly right past with ultimately Dickinson taking the race win.

Heading into moto two, we saw the Gabriel KTM’s John Adamson fly out the gate to grab the holeshot, as he proceeded to lead for the next few laps as the Troy Lee ASA United GasGas rider Steven Clarke pushed on behind him in second place. Mewse struggled slightly in the first half of the race but eventually he pulled through to take the moto two win ahead of Clarke, with Todd in third and Dickinson in fourth.

Your top three overall finishers are:

1st – Ashton Dickinson

2nd – Wilson Todd

3rd – Conrad Mewse

PC – Nuno Laranjeira
