MXGP Russia: ‘My goal always remains the same, to have fun’ – Ben Watson
Monster Energy Factory Yamaha rider Ben Watson will be taking the step up to the premier MXGP Class this weekend for the opening round in Orlyonok, Russia.
The youngster from Nottingham has been putting in the prep work for this season, getting some races underneath his belt at the Revo ACU British Championship, beating Red Bull KTM’s Jeffrey Herlings, and also competing in various european championship events. Ben will also have his brother Nathan Watson to contend with this season in the MXGP class, so could we see some sibling rivalry?
“I’m feeling good heading to Russia,” Said Ben.
“We have had some great preparation races and in general, my feeling with everything has been good. I mean Russia isn’t my type of track, but I have had good speed in the past there and stood on the podium there so no excuses.”
“My goal always remains the same, I keep those to myself but I want to have fun, come away with some solid points and find the areas I can improve in so I can keep building over the next few weeks.”
