MXGP Oss: Race weekend rescued
MXGP organisers and the Dutch government have rescued this weekend’s Oss race after new Covid restrictions put it in jeopardy.
Following a rule change by the Dutch government last Friday which stated outside events must now be all-seater, promoter Ebert Dollevoet held intensive consultations with the municipality of Oss and Infront Moto Racing, MXGP rights holders, to save the event.
“The MXGP of the Netherlands in Oss that is planned this weekend July 17 and 18 at circuit de Witte Ruysheuvel in Oss will continue,” said a statement.
“The event may be attended by the public. The spectators will be given a permanent seat along the circuit to watch the spectacle, the organisation of MXGP Oss will provide sufficient seats. The EMX classes will be held on Saturday, the MXGP classes on Sunday as planned.”
To visit the event it is still necessary to be in possession of a corona ticket / QR code. The government tightened up a number of rules last week, more information about this can be found on the MXGP Oss website. For more questions about the corona admission ticket, the organization refers to Testing for Access: (+31) 88-7770809 / https://www.testenvoortoegang.org)
Spectators can have the chance to walk through the Paddock to view it but during the race the Paddock remains closed to the public. The catering facilities and toilets are open, the organization is still discussing the possibilities of the entertainment program.
