News: McCullough resigns as MXoN Irish team manager

MXoN silly season is well underway with team picks at the moment, with the surprise resignation of Team Ireland’s manager Phillip McCullough.

The news is out that Team Ireland MXoN team manager Phillip McCullough has resigned from his role, following an indecisition on this years MXoN team.

Since 2016 Phillip has had the honor of picking and leading the team to various events around the world, but this year was not so straight forward. After half an hour of discussion an agreement still wasn’t made as to who is heading to Mantova this year, despite it being Team Managers say.

Phillip had Stuart Edmonds and Martin Barr down for the Open slot, but the issue came when it couldn’t be decided on an MX2 rider for this year, and his choice wasn’t accepted.

The official team hasn’t been announced yet, but should be resolved with a new team manager over the next week.
