MXGP Turkey: Vialle claims MX2 Overall
Red Bull KTM Tom Vialle claimed the overall victory in Turkey this weekend, with a second place finish and a win to secure the top podium step.
Rockstar Energy Husqvarna’s Jed Beaton had a storming start to the second MX2 moto in Afyon, as he was chased down by Red Bull KTM rider Tom Vialle. After the four week summer break, the young KTM rider seemed to be back at the sharp end of the pack.
Meanwhile a textbook race win in moto two for current MX2 championship leader and Monster Energy Factory Yamaha rider Maxime Renaux, leading from start until finish, even though Vialle set the fastest lap of the race on lap six.
Chaos further down the field for the Honda 114 Motosports rider Ruben Fernandez as he battled with Monster Energy Yamaha’s Jago Geerts jumping straight across him on one of the huge table tops causing Geerts to shut off completely, then he made another huge mistake on the other side of the track crashing out completely.
With Renaux claiming the race two win, this meant with a one two scorecard Tom Vialle took the overall podium place for the weekend.
