Arlington SX III: ‘Getting taken out always sucks’ – Cooper Webb

Round twelve of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross championships saw an ever confident Cooper Webb claim his third main event win in a row, but not without some drama from the HRC Honda Team, in Arlington, Texas.

Cooper explained all about the passes made by HRC Honda’s Ken Roczen and Chase Sexton in last night’s post race press conference.

“You never want to be in that position where when you’re getting passed, it was racing. I mean, he didn’t mean to do it, but, you know, getting taken out as always, always sucks.”

“So I think for me, I just try to use it as motivation and ground myself to use that energy, I guess to get myself going for the main event. I had just gotten beat and passed by two guys and kind of pulled away from so I was looking for some redemption there and then. Like I said, getting put on the ground, it’s never fun.”

“There’s a bunch of different ways that to handle that situation, but I felt like for me, I just tried to use it to, to motivate myself to go there in the main and do the best I could and try to use it to put that pressure on me to go. How it ended up working out how I kind of envisioned in it.”

“But you never know how racing it changes all the time. So, like I said I think for me, I just use it as motivation and it worked out really, really well.”
