Atlanta SX III: Late setup change carries Tomac to podium

Reigning Monster Energy Supercross king Eli Tomac made a setup change before the third Atlanta main event which carried him to the podium but also left the Floridian frustrated.

The factory Kawasaki rider is now out of the championship picture unless something goes seriously amiss for Cooper Webb and Ken Roczen in Salt Lake City on Saturday.

“I made a change before the main and it was better, just period. That was a little frustrating knowing I left something on the table on Tuesday and this afternoon,” said Tomac, speaking at the track.

“But at least we made the change for tonight at main event time. You know it was for me, better riding, it was still third place but at least I had them in sight right, as to where Tuesday I felt like I was getting left in the dust.

“It’s really hard to hit the nail on the head setting-wise, just because you’ve got different obstacles going on, big whoops and high-speed. It makes it good though, it makes it technical and keeps everyone really scratching their head and I enjoy something different.”
