Kellett to line up for 2021 Weston Beach Race

Dragon Tek Yamaha rider Todd Kellett is back in 2021 for the 38th Anniversary of the Weston Beach Race to once again contest for the title.

After taking three consecutive wins in the adult solo race back in 2016 to 2018, the bristolian rider Todd Kellett is back in 2021 for the 38th Anniversary of the Weston Beach Race to go for the title once again.

RHL Activities caught up with Todd ahead of the event to find out how he is feeling for the weekend.

How does it feel to be back racing at the Weston Beach Race?

“It’s cool to be back. Having missed a year, I look forward to it. It fell right this year that it doesn’t clash with the French Beach Race Championship, so thought we would make the most of a pre-season race and use it for the bike time.”

Will you be going for the win after taking three wins in 2016 to 2018?

“Having won back to back in 2016, 2017 and 2018 it was a shame to miss a year, but it would be nice to add another one to the list. For us as the team, it’s a warm up race really. Any bike time in a race environment before round one of the French Championship is a bonus.”

With the announcement of Steve Holcombe coming this year. Do you think you and him will have a big battle for the win?

“It’s good to see Steve is coming to the event. I definitely think it will be a good race and I look forward to racing it.”

What do you do as prep for the Beach Race?

“Preparation for me is months of work. I start training and testing in September ready for round one of the French Beach races in October, but we aim to be at full fitness in January.”

Make sure you’re in Weston-super-Mare on October third to watch Todd Kellett do battle to make it four times as the Adult Solo winner.
