Maddii heads new Fantic factory effort
Corrado Maddii will oversee the fortunes of the revitalised Fantic marque in 2021 with the newly-formed Fantic Factory Team Maddii contesting next season’s EMX125 and EMX250 championships.
A world championship contender on a succession of small-capacity Italian machines in the 1980s, Maddii has also enjoyed considerable success in a number of team managerial roles.
A major player in trials in the 1980s with Thierry Michaud winning three world titles, Fantic has already tasted success this year with Andrea Bonacorsi lifting the EMX125 title for the Italian factory and Nicholas Lapucci unbeaten in the last two EMX2t rounds.
The plan is to field a four-man squad in 2021 with two riders racing Fantic’s XX125 two-stroke and two on the four-stroke XX250 in the Euro series along with major Italian races.
