MX Nationals Hawkstone: ‘It was a really great atmosphere’ – Kellett
Yamaha Motor France rider Todd Kellett cleaned up at the Fastest 40 this weekend at round two of the Michelin MX Nationals at the historic Hawkstone Park.
After returning to round two of the 2021 Michelin MX Nationals Championship at Hawkstone Park, Kellett cleaned up in moto one on the sunday, with a 7.7 second lead ahead of SS24 Shaun Simpson. Seemingly enjoying his off season and getting some races under his belt before beach race season starts later in the year, Kellett told DBR how his weekend panned out.
“I didn’t have the best day yesterday,” said Todd. “I wasn’t really feeling it if i’m honest, it was just one of those things.”
“It was a great shame really, the rest of the guys weren’t here on the saturday so I don’t want to take all the credit for that anyway. So I was really pleased to take the win in the first one and fourth in the second one, which my old man said if your not going to win on the one day your better to win on the second.”
“It was a really good weekend with a great atmosphere, and the guys were very accomodating. I’ve got no ties, no strategy no nothing at the moment, this is basically my off season so I got back to France in september, to do a couple of French International rounds, and the French Elite motocross championship, just a few here and there really to stay sharp.”
“I might try and race as many of these rounds as I can now I have the points lead!”
