MXGB Canada Heights: Verde KTM’s Jake Millward shines at round three
The Revo ACU British Championship round three took place this weekend, at a one day event at Canada Heights in Swanley.
It came as no surprise that the SS24 rider Shaun Simpson put his KTM 450 machine on pole position in this mornings MX1 qualifying, followed by Hitachi KTM’s Adam Sterry and Revo Kawasaki’s Dylan Walsh, returning after a huge off at last weekend’s FatCat moto park.
Moto one is where things heated up with Verde KTM’s Jake Millward grabbing an early lead out of the gate and pushed on in front of Crendon FastTracks Tommy Searle and Revo’s Dylan Walsh. Hitachi KTM’s Adam Sterry went down of the start of the first moto, which left him with his work cut out but still managed to push his way through the pack up to eight position. Meanwhile Walsh and Tommy came together whilst trying to make the move for second, and both went went down allowing Shaun Simpson to fly through and claim second place. Apico Husqvarna’s Stuart Edmonds had a good ride claiming sixth position just behind Walsh and ahead of Liam Knight, but it was Jake Millward who took the win on board his KTM.
Gabriel KTM’s Liam Knight had a great start in moto two sitting in third place for a few laps, just as Dylan Walsh pushed into the lead and checked out completely. Brad Todd also had a great start in the second moto, sitting in second before making a mistake allowing Searle, Kullas and Sterry to push past. Meanwhile the Oakleaf 4four motorsports rider Elliott Banks Browne had some really bad luck due to a mechanical problem in both moto’s causing him to DNF.
