MXGB Foxhill ‘I feel back to 100% so no excuses’- Mewse
Hitachi KTM’s MX2 rider Conrad Mewse made a great comeback today at Foxhills despite sitting out the Russian MXGP round last weekend.
DBR caught up with Conrad to discuss the last few weeks, post race at Foxhills.
“I am feeling a lot better now, I had gastroenteritis so I lost 5kg as I couldn’t eat all week, I felt terrible so for me Russia just wasn’t possible,’ Said Mewse.”No matter how much I tried, I just wasn’t able to push to get in the points. What I thought was going to be a perfect day, I end up with two third overalls in a row.”
“At Canada Heights I wasn’t feeling too good as the illness started there, and here today I had a perfect start I started off with P1 in qualifying, started the first race and won with a good margin, the second race I pulled the hole shot and I was out in the lead I was riding my own lines.”
“I was just so comfortable and all of a sudden I hit a rock in the bottom turn and my chain came off, It wasn’t anyone’s fault in the teams it was just a freak accident. I was down there for so long but I was so determined to get that chain back on, eventually we got it back on and I managed to work my way back up to seventh.”
“With being a horrendous day I still only lost one point in the championship to John, so overall it wasn’t the day we wanted but we still got it done, and I was still third on the podium.”
“Heading into next week for the British MXGP, I can’t wait, I didn’t race in Russia so this is will be my first GP, Im feeling back to 100% now which is nice so no excuses. I’m going to ride exactly like I did today and hopefully we will have a good weekend.”
