MXGB Foxhill: Kullas extends championship points

Once again the Cab Screens Yamaha rider Harri Kullas took the race win at round four of the Revo ACU British Motocross Championship, extending his championship lead.

Qualifying saw Harri fly through into first position which looked like an easy effort for the Estonian rider, much like what we saw from him at the last round of the championship at Canada Heights. He was then shortly followed by Hitachi KTM’s Adam Sterry, and also Revo’s Dylan Walsh to round out the top three.

Moto one of the morning saw the Cab Screens Yamaha rider Harri Kullas dominate the session winning by 17.5 seconds, adding another british motocross win under his belt. Not without coming under pressure by the Revo Kawasaki team rider Dylan Walsh, but just as he tried to make the pass on Harri he crashed out causing him to DNF and sit out the rest of the day. Meanwhile further down the pack Shaun Simpson had a huge off heading down one of the historic hills, heading straight through the chestnut fencing but managed to claim back a 12th place finish.

Race one top five MX1

151 Harri Kullas 2:25.434    100 Tommy Searle 2:23.535  3 Josh Gilbert 2:20.994  777 Evgeny Bobryshev 2:19.308  303 Jake Millward  2:27.673

Heading into moto two of the day, we saw the Estonian rider taking the hole shot again ahead of the recently returned Par homes husqvarna rider Evgeny Bobryshev, followed by Crendon FastTracks Tommy Searle and SS24 Shaun Simpson. Bobryshev’s teammate Josh Gilbert also had a great start to finish up sixth in the points today.

Shaun Simpson drive and determination shone through today at Foxhills, with him catching up on championship leader Harri Kullas and making the pass to take the moto two win by 1.5 seconds ahead of the Cab Screens rider. Tommy however faded off slightly in the second moto, as the pretty spread out field separated towards the end of the race, but he still managed to get a third place finished to top off the day, before heading to Hawkstone Park tomorrow for the MX Nationals double header weekend.

Race two top five MX1:

24 Shaun Simpson  2:19.692    151 Harri Kullas 2:19.082  100 Tommy Searle 2:16.641  777 Evgeny Bobryshev 2:27.780  811 Adam Sterry 2:23.977
