MXGB Lyng: ‘It’s been shocking to get back racing’ – Jeffrey Herlings
Red Bull KTM’s Jeffrey Herlings took the overall win ahead of Monster Yamaha’s Ben Watson at this weekend’s Revo MXGB Championship the Cadders Hill circuit.
With Wts0on and Herlings going at it for both motos in the MX1 class, ultimately with Herlings just pipping Watson for the win in race two, we caught up with him post race.
“So far so good,” Herlings told DBR. “I mean I haven’t raced for like eight months so it’s been very shocking to get back to racing you know, it’s like a harder routine but it’s good to be back racing now and I really enjoyed it here.”
“It’s been a while since we raced with the public obviously I think it is 4000 spectators allowed but that’s already a good thing to start off with. So, so far so good. Hopefully we can keep it dry for the rest of the day and have a good second moto and go home.”
When speaking about the up and coming MXGP season, Herlings said “We just tried to race as much as possible and until then just get back into race rhythm. You know, I feel like I haven’t raced for a while so we need to get some races under the belt and then yeah, go into Russia.
“It’s not the one of my favourite tracks, but I try to do my best and it will be nice sitting on the podium and being consistent for the rest of the year and try to win another championship but, you know, going through Russia, just try to be consistent and get on the podium.”
