MXGP Germany: Jonass to work on ‘opening lap intensity’
Round eleven of the FIM World MXGP Championship headed to Germany this weekend, where the Standing Construct GasGas rider Pauls Jonass bagged an overall fourth.
After grabbing great starts in both motos this allowed the Latvian to ride his own races, battle hard, and secure solid 6-4 result at the ridiculously rutty Teutschenthal circuit, after struggling at previous rounds of the MXGP Championship.
“Overall, it was a good day with decent starts and decent results,” said Jonass.
“The only thing I’m lacking is a little intensity on the opening laps. My speed is good so if I can just stay a little closer to the leaders early in the races then I think I can improve my results a little.
“Together with the Standing Construct GASGAS team we’ve found a really good setting with the bike and with a lot of hardpack races coming up on the calendar, I’m feeling really confident for the weeks ahead.”
