MXGP: One day race format for 2021
Due to last years ever changing restrictions with the pandemic in 2020, the MXGP world championship opted to run a one day race format, which will continue into the 2021 race season.
“The decision to run a one day format was made due to the tight racing schedule in order to allow more recovery time for the riders and the team staff.” However, even last year at a triple header, some of the GP men would go to a practice track and ride on a Saturday before Sunday’s GP.” Explained Infront Moto racing.
With quite a lot of negative press surrounding this decision, if it allows us to get a championship this year with the restrictions, then it’s the best way to go.
