MXGP Portugal: Prado wins overall at round four
GasGas Factory Racing’s Jorge Prado grabbed the overall MXGP victory in Agueda, ahead of championship leader and HRC Honda rider Tim Gajser.
Adding another Fox Holeshot to his collection, Prado shot out the gate shortly followed by Monster Energy Yamaha’s Glenn Coldenhoff, Standing construct Husqvarna’s Brian Bogers and Yamaha team mate Jeremy Seewer, where the current championship leader struggled down in eighth for the opening few laps.
As bogers sets the fastest lap of the race chasing down Prado, Gajser manages to muscle his way through to third which is where he finished the first MXGP moto.
Grabbing his second Fox Holeshot of the weekend, Jorge Prado lead around the first turn followed by Gajser, Jonas, Coldenhoff and Seewer. Prado sets the fastest lap of the race, just as he manages to keep the HRC Honda at bay.
Gajser however charged forward and claimed the MXGP moto two win, but it was Prado who won the overall result of the weekend boosting his championship points, but it was only two points who separated the pair for the overall.
