Searle and Nicholls back together in works Honda MX1 squad
Dave Thorpe has unveiled his three-man team – and new title sponsor – for 2021.
The team comprises existing members Tommy Searle and Jake Nicholls in MX1 and new signing Jay Hague in MX2. Title sponsor is timber engineering company Crendon and the team will be known as Crendon Fastrack Honda.
The team will contest the ACU British Motocross Championship and the Michelin MX Nationals.
The ACU series was cancelled this year so Searle – who starts his second season on the team – will be defending the title he won in 2019 and he will also be the #1 rider in the MX Nationals following his championship victory in 2020. Next year will be Nicholls’ fourth with Thorpe’s squad.
“Our goal is to be the dominant team in British championship racing and we have everything in place to achieve that,” said Thorpe. “After personally testing the brand-new Honda CRF450R I know we have the best machinery and our team of mechanics and technical partners will ensure they are the ultimate bikes on the track.
“With Tommy Searle and Jake Nicholls, we have not only the fastest but also two of the most experienced and professional riders in the MX1 class. And with Jay Hague in the MX2 class, it’s a real opportunity for him to really shine.
“It’s great to have the full backing of Crendon and, of course, we still have backing from many of our long-time partners who make it possible for the team to operate at such a high level. I’m certain the Crendon Fastrack Honda team will be the team to beat in the UK.”
