Tony Cairoli undergoes knee surgery
Nine-time world MX champion Tony Cairoli (Red Bull KTM) has been under the surgeon’s knife in a bid to repair an ongoing knee problem.
The 35-year-old Sicilian has posted a couple of post-op pics on his Instagram account. While details are in short supply, it appears the knee problem is a result of wear and tear over his long career and especially affects him on hard-pack tracks.
With the opening GP of the 2021 season scheduled for the start of April in Oman, Cairoli has plenty of time to get fit for his bid to win a record-equalling 10th world title.
